The 2011 series of West wetsuits are made from a limestone based neoprene which is lighter, stretchier and friendlier to the environment than petroleum based alternatives. The limestone production process is powered solely by Hydro electricity. Limestone neoprene is also shown to resist aging caused by exposure to the elements, such as direct sunlight and moisture better than petroleum based alternatives.

This year West celebrates 29 years of making quality wetsuits. Inspired by the hardcore surfing environment of Western Australia, two surfers, Patrick Leahy and Roger Liley created a unique grassroots surfing wetsuit company called West in 1982.

Today West is still the grassroots surfing company it was founded as, making the best wetsuits for surfing.
