Our resident coach lives in Scarborough and is not only qualified through the Academy of Surfing Instructors who set the standard for Surf Coaching the world over, but also through Surfing GB who are leading the standard for UK surf coaching, he is also an R.N.L.I trained beach Lifeguard. As well as the formal qualifications Carl has 14 years experience of Surfing in Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coast and he will make sure you are in the in the right place at the right time to get the most from your lesson.

We have Public Liability Insurance tailormade for Surf Coaches by Surfing GB.

Surf_lessons_in_Scarborough

 

The Surf in Scarborough has something to offer for all abilities, there are Three main Surfing Beaches all with different characteristics.

North Bay - Faces NNE and catches swell from the North round to the SE, an easy beach to learn on when small, hazards are rocks in the middle and edges of the bay, RIPS and tidal movements. There is a Lifeguard service in the Summer.

South Bay - Faces SE, a very sheltered beach which is good in stormy conditions and geat for learning, gentle waves, no Rocks on the main beach, minimal RIPs and no Tidal dangers make it the safest beach to lean to surf on. There is a Lifeguard service in Summer.

Cayton Bay - Faces NE and picks up any swell going, more suited to the intermediate surfer and works through all stages of tide, an exposed beach which can have bad RIPs and heavy dumping waves, there is NO lifeguard service on this Beach.

Vibe Surf School is the place to head if you are a fresh beginner surfer or improver, we hold surf lessons at South Bay, North Bay and Cayton Bay in Scarborough, we take you where conditions are the best, we are the only surf school to offer this and along with evening and early morning surf lessons we are also the most flexible, our coach is a ASI qualified Surf coach and SLA GB lifeguard with many years experience of surfing the Yorkshire Coast. We carry a great range of surfing hardware products such as Surfboard bags, Surfboard leashes and Surfboard fins. For the Juniors we have summer shortie wetsuits and  bodyboards to suit all ages, whatever you need we will do our best to find it for you. You can now buy Street Scooters at Vibe surf shop, Mod scooters UK designed and built these are an entry level street and stunt scooter, the Mod lite scooter is available online and in store. Slamm Scooters are one of the best selling scooters around, we stock junior Tantrum Scooters and the Slamm Outbreak full size street scooters.
